School Maintenance and Support
Schools are included in the inspection services provided by the Ministry of Education. This tender provides the inspections as required by the Compliance Schedules for the buildings, but each school has to provide the cost of maintenance and repairs to systems such as Fire Alarm, Emergency Lights, School Bells etc. from their own working budgets.
It is a common misconception that schools must utilise the services of the Ministry's Inspection provider to undertake the repairs or maintenance of these systems. When a Work requirement Notice (WRN) is issued, Schools are free to choose the organisations which undertake this, and able to save a considerable amount in using Fire Fighting Pacific as an alternative provider for these items.
